We took the opportunity to stop half way at Brough Castle. It was a lovely October day with the pleasant chill in the air. Here are some photos of everyone having fun and stretching their legs from the journey so far. The children had lots of fun!

As you can see in some of the photos above there were three levels to the top of the castle and the only way to get there was by climbing the dark, narrow and slimy staircase. Not a lot of us do very well with heights but we all still managed to do it.
But back to the van, the next step of the journey took an exciting turn....
