Only twenty minutes of driving after leaving the castle a strange light appeared on the dashboard of the van, so we pulled over. Dad tried to start it again but all power had gone! We called for some help of the R.A.C and after 40 minutes of waiting some help finally arrived. They decided to tow us to the nearest services and there they would check the van to see what the problem was. They did and it turned out to be a 'ruptured fuel pump' of all things so they said that they would have to take the van to the nearest garage to get it fixed up for us. That meant having to empty the van of ALL the stuff we had packed!
So out it all came bit by bit...
...case by case.
While we were all emptying the van, Dad had to try and sort out whether we would still carry on with the trip or head home and if so how? We came to the conclusion that we would need about four, five seat Taxi's, so then we had to organize who would go with who in each one. (It was a bit tricky because we needed to sort out how we were going to fit with all the car-seats too!)
Dad decided that we would carry on with the holiday as planned.
Above: Dad, on the phone organizing.
Above: Decisions, decisions.
Above: Zac and Nat
Above: A sad goodbye as the van was towed away.
The R.A.C kindly organized the taxis for us and we then went about loading our luggage into the three cars provided, after nearly four hours of waiting. One was thankfully an eight seat bus with plenty of boot room.
Thanks guys for loading all the vehicles!
Then we were back on the road again at 5:30pm. (We pulled over at 2:00pm) and arrived safely to our holiday home an hour later.
We'll be back soon with more!
God Bless,
The Shepherds
