Saturday 27/10/12
After having a week of relaxation and fun it was time for us to leave. We checked all of the rooms about 50 times (well not quite!) making sure we hadn't left anything behind. It's fun to leave it all tidy, I'd love to run a holiday cottage, you can make them look so sweet and each room with a different style.
We then finally left around 9:00am and were on the road home. But the adventure never ceases... see the next post!

Here's goodbye from all of us!
On the way home we stopped off at IKEA. A family favourite day out. We all had a great time, but then we had to finish the rest of the journey as we had another two or three hours left to do. Sadly we didn't get any photos at IKEA for you, but I'm sure there will be some more soon.
We'll be back soon!
God bless you all,
The Shepherd Family

Thursday afternoon, 25/10/12 still
We arrived in Dumfries with not too much of a long drive. There, we went to a little town museum and learnt a little bit about Robert Burnes, another Scottish hero. After reading a little bit about him, he actually he wasn't much of a hero at all!

We had to be back at the van quickish because today we had to give the van back to the garage and pick our own van, as it was going to be closing soon.
We soon arrived, and quickly emptied the van from all our stuff again and then loaded it all in our van, then Dad drove the hired one to the other garage while we waited.
Dad got back and away we went to the cottage again in our proper van. Phew, we got there in the end!
God Bless you all,
Charis and everyone

Hello!
Today we were off to a day out to a waterfall, Grey Mares, and Dumfries later on after.
We left and the drive up was quite a journey. It was about an hour and a bit to get there but the roads where all over the place with dips, hills, and lots of sharp turns. Thankfully none of us get motion sickness! We all arrived safely in the end though, and it was quite chilly, more so than the other few days. Dad loved the scenery and feels at home when mountains are surrounding him, the same for Liberty.
Here are a few piccies...

After leaving the waterfall we made our way to the closest town to Southerness, the place where we were staying... Dumfries.

Hello everyone!
This morning Dad and Ike went out with the very kind owner of the cottage who drove them to Dumfries to pick up the new van that the R.A.C had paid for us to use while our one was being fixed. It was really good and such a blessing to find one that we could all fit in nicely with plenty of boot space for odd bits of luggage and it was very practical. While they were out Mum, JED and Rhainnon packed up a picnic for us, as we decided to go for a test drive to see what everyone thought of it. We all hopped in and set off...
Just a little further down the coast from where we were, we stopped at a place called Rockcliffe and there we had our picnic and explored. It was a very pretty little village, and the beach was excellent. The tide was out when we arrived so the sand was very sticky and seemed to like sucking our boots into it. Poor Berea was not impressed and kept saying, "Oh, this is just not good"! Her boots did get rather stuck. She also took a great dislike to the patterns left behind by the worm holes!
