Hoist is the name of a brilliant game that we like to play on a rainy afternoon, and with this years weather, I think we all need some more ideas as to what you can do. So here we have the instructions and of course some photos of JIM and Nat having lots of fun playing it.
WH
WILL NEED
Math sums or questions of small-ish peices of paper
3 buckets, bags, or tubs
1 long peice of rope or dressing gown belts
And quite a few building bricks/blocks or similar
HOW
PLAY
Have one person and the bottom of the stairs in the hallway, and one or two people at the top of the stairs on the landing. The person at the top must take a sum/question out of one of the buckets and place it in the bucket with the rope tied to it and slowly lower it down making sure it does not touch anything on the way down. The person at the bottom must take out the sum, look at it and put the answer into the bucket along with the question that they were given, and then shout "Hoist!" to show that they are done. The person at the top then should pull the bucket up again without touching anything and check to see if the answer is correct or not. Once the sum or question has been answered, correctly the second person at top must stick that piece of paper in the spare bucket while the other is lowering the bucket down again with the building blocks in it and must return them safetly down. The bucket needs to be pulled up again and the next sum or question placed in the bucket again.
Here are the photos!.....

God Bless!
