Family Interviews: JED

JED

Age: 19
Full name:
Jacob Edwin Dominic

1. We all know you like cooking JED, but what do you like to cook most?
I like to create things that make people happy. Anything Italian usually works, especially Cannellonni. If it is has big flavours, is colourful but most of all fun to make, I'm there.

2. Why do you like the colour Green so much?
Green is good. Tom, Joe, Rhiannon and I were given personalized egg cups when we were all very little and mine just so happened to be green; it all started from there. Also any smart person likes the colour green as it is the easiest colour on the eyes. God knew what he was doing when he made grass.

3. What is your all time favourite style of music?
I appreciate all styles of music but definitely nothing 'poppy'. I don't have a favourite band as such either but quite often some songs do stick out. When I'm cooking I like lounge jazz.

4. When did you get saved and Baptised?
It is right at the furthest reaches of my memory but I do recall some of us either sharing the gospel or praying for someone's salvation and my wanting to do the same. Then I realized that I didn't really know Jesus myself! The light bulb came on and so I gave my life to Him then and there. I was four. My baptism I can remember; a most memorable occasion - I nearly drowned! Not quite, but our friend, Stuart, let go of me in the pool thinking that I could swim. Anyway, it was a really great day, the sun was hot, a barbecue and great friends. As I said, most memorable.

5. What position are you in the family?
Ha, ha! Whenever I'm asked this I like to say, "I am number four."

6. What is your favourite Movie?
Warrior, Inception, How To Train Your Dragon, The Four Feathers, Defiance, Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs, Flywheel and Facing the Giants, to name but a few, (Yes, I appreciate most genres!)

7. So what is your favourite verse/book in the bible?
I really enjoy reading Joshua and 1 Samuel (before David started making mistakes) for the history side of things and, believe it or not, I do like Esther and Ruth. I'll quote Ken Ham, "All answers can be found in Genesis." Many Psalms, 56 and 139 definitely.

8. What is your phone ring tone, and what would you have if you could choose?
"Hey good lookin' what you got cookin' "

9. What is your favourite conspiracy and why?
A bizzare question. There are so many and I don't really like the sound of any of them to be honest! Biblical conspiracies such as the nephilm, where is the ark, what was the Tower of Babel really, etc, all fascinate me as there is so much we don't yet know. However, I do feel that knowing Jesus is far more important.

10. Where would you like to visit most?
Israel for sure. Everything about it from the people, the history and culture to the food. Food wise it is a perfect mix of Mediterranean and Moroccan influences so I'd love to see what inspiration I might find.

11. Do you have any prized possessions?
It is a family tradition to be presented a bible when you have learned to read properly and so mine is quite important to me. Being a training chef, many of my kitchen tools are very important too such as my knife collection, my IKEA saucepan collection, etc. Also my top hat which my wonderful Mum bought me for my birthday but that is another story.

12. What are your views on different denominations?
Do you mean 'cults'? Actually, the correct question to ask would be, "Was Christ himself part of any denomination?" He is not best pleased with those who add conditions to salvation, those who 'have a form of godliness but deny the power' and those who say that God chooses which of us can enter heaven.

Thanks a lot JED!
