You probably know very well by now that we can be rather random at times and do crazy things. Well, guess where we were this time last year?
LONDON!
Mum & Dad were talking the day before and Mum came up with the idea of doing the Jubilee boat display. She said "come on, let's do it, it's history in the making! The children will love it" Well, we sure did, it is a day we will never forget, almost a magical experience. Most of us have never been to London before. It was fantasic to see up close all the famous landmarks.
So Dad said to us, the evening before, "Let's start making a big lunch and get ready for a big day out tomorrow."
We had no idea where we were going but simply did as we were told whilst trying to figure out Mum and Dad's crazy plan. It was very fun getting ready: while we were all making lunch together and getting the little guys ready for bed we were all trying to figure out where we were going. One person would say "I've got it," and shortly after "Oh no, it can't be that!" Guessing really built the excitement.
I must say I did see Dad on the computer looking at 'Train time-tables' but that threw me off even more! And then, when we saw Mum collecting different things like umbrellas, putting spare socks in everyone's ruck-sacks, walking reins and then asked us where she could find a long piece of rope that we could all hold on to. All we could say was "What is going on Mum?!" (Fortunately we didn't need the long piece of rope!)
We left quite early the very next morning and I had finally figured it out where we were going and Dad confirmed it on the way there. We arrived on the out-skirts of London and had to walk a mile from where we parked to the train station in the pouring rain! We got the tickets, hopped on the train and arrived in London! It was packed full of people, seriously in places we couldn't even move and with other people pushing past we had to make a train holding onto the person's ruck-sack in front of you. It did actually feel like we were in a movie! The atmosphere was great, everyone chatting and so friendly.
It was raining pretty much all day, so when we got home we were soaking wet. The shoes I wore were light pink but because my jeans got wet, I had a blue ring from the dye around them! Inspite of the weather we had a really fantastic day.
We did see Charles and Camilla drive past us, but didn't get any pictures of them.
